MONOCACY BOTTOM BOYS

In the early 70's, Rudy and Scooter would campout with the boys along the banks of the Monocacy River just outside of Buckystown,MD.
They would spend the entire weekend pickin' guitars, pluckin' banjo's, slappin' bass, blowin' jugs, skippin' rocks and drinkin' moonshine.
They formed a band called The Jay-Hawks and tried taking their act to the local venues. Their was Rudy Jenkins on guitar and vocals,
Scooter McGee on banjo and vocals, Homer Milloy on the mandolin and fiddle, Stinky Larry on bass and Big Jake on drums. When these
boys got together they would play their hearts out. The problem was they could never stay sober enough to finish a set list. Every show
would end up in a disaster and they were soon banned from every bar within a 50 mile radius of their hometown. After only months on
the music seen, the Jay-Hawks called it quits.

Nearley 30 years later Scooter got all the boys back together. Sober and committed to writing and performing music again the boys hit
the local seen with a bang. Willie C stumbled across the boys performing at a little bar on the flats between Frederick and Thurmont, MD.
He liked what he saw and encourged the guys to lay down some tracks. With the reunion in full swing and landing in Hooker Studio,
the boys started talking about the good old days along the banks of the Monocacy River. It was then they decided to be known as
The Monocacy Bottom Boys. This name would honor their roots and give recognition to where it all began. With their love for music being
reborn, the boys set their sites on recording their very first studio album.Their rebirth and reunion was short lived. After only a few months
of studio sessions the drinkin began. Their focus faded and their rekindled spirit began to burn out. After only a handful of songs were written
and recorded the Monocacy Bottom Boys hit bottom once again. They fell hard off the wagon and landed somewhere along wayside.
